Oh my tail wagging goodness, it is already Friday night and I haven’t finished my first blog for the week.
As I shared earlier this week my human, Maryann is having a hard time sharing about what is going on with me over the last several months. So, I asked her if it would be okay if I wrote at least blog a week. She thought that would be a great idea . . . as so many of my friends are asking about me and what is going on. So here goes. I am pawsitively nervous as I’ve never wrote a blog before.
Maryann’s heart is hurting. She tries not to let it show, but I know. And I’ve seen the tears. She has been so very good to me and has given me a beautiful home for almost fourteen years now. If your new to my page, be sure and read my story on maryannstroup.com (both the home and ourstory tabs). In a nutshell, I have have had a life of amazing miracles. My website needs to be updated with what I am going to share on my blogs.
You see I have had hip dysplasia nearly my entire life. For many years, Dr. John Wilson, DVM and his staff would look at my x-rays in amazement and tell Maryann they don’t understand how I walked as well as I do. Oh shucks, it wasn’t that I could just walk, but up til February 2013 I would run like the wind too.
And then in February 2013 and thereafter, something happened. I fell multiple times on black ice. This combined with my already deteriorating hips was an extremely painful situation. This is when the neurological damage began. What is neurological damage you ask? I know it affects each of us differently. But for me my back legs and sometimes my front legs would not operate correctly. Instead of my back feet being flat on the floor, my legs and feet would work the directly opposite of what they should have.
To be continued . . .
