I have been struggling for a few days now, just how to tell and when to tell my Facebook friends. I don’t know how else to tell you except to blurt it out . . . it feels like I’m screaming it out . . . along with the tears streaming down my face.
Lady Hugs, my amazing black lab mix took a turn for the worse on Sunday, July 13. Later tomorrow afternoon (July 17) we will spend our last moments together. I have a special day planned for her tomorrow including two and four legged friends. Along with preparing her a porterhouse steak, sweet potatoes and all the rest.
I adopted her early in February, 2000 and we have had a special bond and friendship for 14 ½ years which has been like a blink of the eye. And though I knew this day would come, my heart is agonizing. She has had a life of miracles and overcoming. It truly is a miracle she is fifeen considering what she has survived. She not only survived but thrived and showed me and others all about overcoming despite the circumstances. I truly believed she had a couple more quality years left. Until she was injured again on black ice this past February.
Many of our Facebook friends do not know her amazing story of survival.
