Oh my tail wagging goodness, it is already Friday night and I haven’t finished my first blog for the week.
As I shared earlier this week my human, Maryann is having a hard time sharing about what is going on with me over the last several months. So, I asked her if it would be okay if I wrote at least blog a week. She thought that would be a great idea . . . as so many of my friends are asking about me and what is going on. So here goes. Effective February 1, 2014, Lady Hugs announced her retirement as a therapy dog with Therapy Dogs Incorporated. She became a therapy dog in January 2010, at the age of 10 years old.

Sauntering in the Snow and In Her Glory
Well again, Lady Hugs cannot get enough of this cold weather and snow. The temp was -11 here this morning and wind chill is now -21 . . . can only imagine what wind chill was at 5am this morning when I took her out.
Yesterday, even with her hip dysplasia and back-end neurologicial issues she took a saunter (saun·ter, sôntər, noun – a leisurely stroll) through snow a foot deep without hesitation and was in her glory (glo·ry, glôrē, verb – take great pride or pleasure in). We did half of our typical walk and if it would have been up to her we would have done the entire walk. She was quite curious as her one brown eye would pan the snow in excess of 15” on either side of sidewalk. She wasn’t sure how to do get herself into the snow banks and complete her typical dives and snow angel-ing and bathing – so instead she used the sidewalk! [Read more…]
